After an immense decline in the tourism industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its restrictive measures. It is with great (pleasure) to announce that Miss Grand Supreme Tourism will be hosting a fashion show at the Boardwalk Mall on the 28th of January 2023.

Miss Grand Supreme Tourism Eastern Cape is an initiative that has an imperative objective to amalgamate young women across the Eastern Cape Province. This is achieved through this homegrown pageant. The modelling competition dares to be different by extending its hand into getting an exchange of cultural backgrounds and experiences of these women to groom and learn from one another. Through the art of pageantry, Miss Grand Supreme gets to merge culture, tourism and unity within the community. As a concern of the women in the pageant and what it is that they get to do after the competition. All finalists are awarded the opportunity to brand ambassadors when it comes to everything tourism within the Eastern Cape. They are naturally set to travel within the Eastern Cape as means to promote the tourist attractions within the province. Other than that, the finalists are also set to be actively involved in the community by giving service to child development, sanitation and other fragile issues within our community. After all this has been said and done, the public will be educated on its history and heritage while awareness is created on socio-economic issues.

For the fashion show, Miss Grand Supreme will be in collaboration with Luan Events. The initiative will contain the voice(s) of 24 influential women in the Bay and Eastern Cape. Making use of the runway, social issues such as GBV will be addressed as well as other pressing issues that affect a girl child and the communities in their entirety. Leaon’s cancer journey, KC mobile and Zoe’s sanitary drive are three charities that are going to be fundraised for.

“Well known clothing brands housed at the boardwalk mall such as Homabakazi, Queenspark, Obriani and Boho girls will sponsor the influential women with their stunning range of clothes. Sorbet Walmer Park will do the make-up” says Graham, founder of Luan Events.

Not only will it end there, Luan Events and PR specialists will present a celebratory Tourism Night Cocktail Event at the Granary, Boardwalk Mall. This is to celebrate the Eastern Cape’s Tourism by bringing together role players from the tourism industry, hospitality sector as well as the corporate industry. The platform will be very advantageous to network and share vast opportunities that are available in the tourism sector. The event will be honored by the Nelson Mandela Bay (NMB) Mayor, Honorable Mayor from Port Alfred, Tourism department Director, MMC for tourism and local councilors among other very important people in attendance.

The audience can enthusiastically anticipate the 20 Miss Grand Supreme Tourism EC finalist shall to be unveiled to our sponsors, stakeholders and the general public.  These events take pride in redeeming the imperatives of the tourism industry, hence the theme of the program is The Rebirth of Tourism. Role players of the tourism industry will broaden the measures taken to revive the industry as it had been negatively impacted by the covid-19 pandemic. Further to mention, an array of cocktails will be provided by Flitch and Leedes. Their theme is Cocktails for Charity and the money raised will be gifted to the three above-mentioned charities.

We look forward to a fun-filled event that will promote networking and business where people will simultaneously benefit from the Eastern Cape tourism industry.  Both these events will lead to the main event, the Miss Grand Supreme Tourism EC which will be hosted on the 11th of February 2023. The 20 finalists will battle it out to become the inaugural Miss Grand Supreme Tourism EC. There’s an expectation of three winners and these will be awarded the opportunity of becoming tourism brand ambassadors for the Eastern Cape. The intention is to exclusively partner with various stakeholders to market and promote the tourism and heritage of the Eastern Cape.
