We had the privilege, as the magazine team, to chat with Sinazo Frans, the visionary founder of Lhoza Hiring Services (LHS), who has emerged as a shining example of entrepreneurial prowess and resilience. Born and raised in the vibrant city of Gqeberha, Sinazo's journey into entrepreneurship was fueled by a deep-seated belief in the power of owning a brand and the independence it affords.
In August 2021, amidst the challenges posed by the lockdown, LHS came into existence. Sinazo, a full-time employee at the time, sought to create an avenue for additional income, recognizing the limitations of relying solely on a single salary. The events industry, she noted, presented a unique opportunity with the potential to generate income consistently, especially during the bustling weekends.
LHS stands as a testament to Sinazo's entrepreneurial spirit, offering a diverse range of services, including stretch tents, event decor, wedding planning, event styling, bridal and baby shower decor, private setup planning and decor, corporate events, and kids events.
Reflecting on the transformative journey, Sinazo emphasizes the newfound independence that comes with entrepreneurship. "Being solely dependent on myself for everything, from having my own apartment to affording the lifestyle I desire, is immensely fulfilling," she shares. The ability to indulge in personal passions without relying on others has become a source of joy for Sinazo, who takes pride in delivering exceptional service that leaves her clients satisfied.
However, the path to success was not without its challenges. Starting with just one tent and 50 chairs, the demand quickly outstripped the available equipment. Undeterred, Sinazo strategically reinvested profits to acquire additional resources, ensuring that LHS could meet the diverse needs of its growing clientele.
A pivotal moment for Sinazo was gaining ownership of decor equipment, marking a shift from outsourcing, and contributing to someone else's success. "It feels so good not to outsource at times instead of making money for someone else," she expresses with evident satisfaction.
Beyond the bustling world of events, Sinazo has diversified her entrepreneurial portfolio with the recent launch of Buchu Edges Products. This venture, aimed at helping individuals grow their hair and edges, demonstrates her multifaceted approach to business.
Peering into the future, Sinazo envisions LHS becoming one of the premier equipment hiring companies within five years. Her aspiration is not only to supply or rent out event equipment but also to foster a team of dedicated individuals. "I enjoy their company and love their work ethic," she remarks about her team, expressing her desire to groom them to work independently and handle events with meticulous precision.
Lastly, Buchu Edges—named for her son—and LHS—both rapidly expanding brands—are led by Sinazo Frans. With a vision that goes well beyond here and now, to a future when her businesses are leaders in their respective industries, her path embodies the tenacity and resolve needed to carve out a space in the entrepreneurial world.
