Gqeberha, Eastern Cape - The Grade 11 Boys Mentor event by Brown's PR, in partnership with Vodacom, Veldskoen, Spar, and other stakeholders, took place on May 9th, 2023, at the Hellenic Hall in Parsons Hill, an old and historic establishment. The event, which was moderated by Michelle Brown, a PR specialist with a passion for coaching and grooming new talent in the business and media events industry, was tailored to the needs of boys.

Over the years, Michelle Brown has brought in different media personalities, business owners, and influential men to speak to the boys, with the aim of sharing genuine and real stories of those who have overcome their challenging backgrounds to be respected and successful. One of the main speakers at this year's event was Clayton Goezaar, a northern areas based businessman who has established two successful carwash businesses despite his challenging background of selling drugs. Clayton's story served as a source of inspiration to the boys, who were encouraged to push through life's difficulties.

In this digital age, social media etiquette was also discussed. The boys were advised on the do's and don'ts of social media, and the importance of building a positive footprint on social media was emphasized. The boys eagerly engaged in the topic, seeking guidance to assist them in leading positive social media lives.

Queenie Diko, the marketing specialist for Vodacom Eastern Region, was impressed with the range of topics covered and felt that the information provided was valuable and practical for the attendees. Reflecting on her own experiences, Queenie remarked that if she had access to similar events when she was in school, she would have been better equipped to manage her finances, choose a career path, and even manage her social media presence. She emphasized the importance of educating young people on these topics, as she believes that not enough guidance is provided to them in these areas, resulting in mistakes being made later in life.

The event covered a variety of topics, including how to behave as a man, social media best practices, career options, discipline, and finances. Michelle Brown closed the event with a quote from Benjamin Franklin, emphasizing the importance of forgiveness, tolerance, heart, good example, deference, conduct, respect, and charity. The Grade 11 Boys Mentor event by Brown's PR was a resounding accomplishment, providing invaluable guidance and inspiration to young boys.
