On a ravishing Wednesday afternoon weather to wine and dine in the Nelson Mandela Bay 20th April, SACCI introduced their members and guests to a new wine spot in town - a month and weeks old cozy wine shop situated in Walmer Main Road named Swirl Wines, to be precise. The shop is home to various wine brands produced all over South Africa, before you even taste their fine wine bottles their neat and enchanting designed shelves are alluring enough to pull you closer, complemented by a small and superb team to assist and serve you.

Melissa Palmer, who is the committee vice-chairperson of SACCI Eastern Cape commenced with the courteousness and shared a bit about her role at SACCI EC, how she is looking forward to meeting the organization's expectations with assistance from it's members, and the plan to increase not only the association in numbers but also adding more value for new and existing members. She continued to share that she is delighted about how things are picking up in the events and hospitality industry, "I'm pretty sure we can all agree 2022 has started with a bang - when you're speaking to people in the events and hospitality industry about how is business, the answer is "we are so busy, we can't even keep up", which is a good thing after what the events and hospitality industry have been through in the past two years".

We also had a brief engagement with the general manager of Swirl Wines Michelle Rohroff to hear about their business - this is what she said, "Other than the delicious wines that we serve, our venue can host about 45 to 50 people and it is available for businesses to book it for events. As Swirls Wines we are already planning to have wine tastings every Wednesday, the tastings will be from available wines in our shop and any other Eastern Cape wine farmers who want to introduce their products to the city. We are also open to accommodating small wine businesses on our shelves, those who are interested can always contact us so we can discuss the details".

The SACCI AGM combined with wine and pairing became a great success at Swirl's, familiarizing the audience with a couple of dry and light bottles of wine from various flavours of the Simonsig bottles, served with 70% - 80% dark chocolate.
