But first, let us hear what is your favourite Mzansi brand besides yours and why? “Definitely King Vleis Clothing, I just relate so much to their ethos, that you can turn an Underdog into a King!”
What/How do you think South Africans can own back the Township economy? “I believe that if we can educate more of our people in the communities and teach them the practical skills on how to start and grow their businesses including how to use their buying power and rands to change their lives, we can certainly be on the trajectory to own back our township economy”.
When did you commence with your business and what motivated you to start? “I started Small Business Runway in 2019 after a few failed attempts in business. What motivated me to start are my own challenges that I had to overcome when I started my previous businesses where I didn’t have capital, didn’t have contacts to sell to and literally did not know how to turn my basic business infrastructure into profit, therefore having to close down”.
What services do you offer and what market do you serve? “We are a Project Management Consulting company. We serve small and medium enterprises who want to grow and scale their business”.
How would you describe the workplace culture of your company? “We are a bunch of creative problem solvers who believe that nothing is impossible!”

How have you expanded your customer or client base? “We use and harness the power of Digital Marketing, Podcasting and Events to communicate our value proposition and serve our client base”.
What are your business highlights so far? “Winning the BMF (Black Management Forum) Impact Award for SMEs in November of 2022”.
According to you, how important is networking and collaborations in the SME space? “It is not only important; our world and future of business is predicated on us coming together to create meaningful connections and add value to each other’s businesses in order to grow”.
When not working on your brand, what do you do to keep sane? “I am spending time with my family and kids”.
