We caught up with the incredibly gifted creative Precious Kofi, who is presently residing in the USA and is originally from Queenstown, Eastern Cape. Precious, who was loved and celebrated for her presenting skills on the television program "Precious Africa," recently went back to her origins following the World Cup victory of the Springboks.

This globetrotting creator revealed that her current project “I am South African – Qha Qwaba” was inspired by the nail-biting back-to back one-point victory that propelled the Springboks to the final. Reflecting on her journey, Precious shared, "The documentary stemmed from the intense emotions of South Africa's win over France. It evolved into a captivating narrative of our nation, a 30-minute masterpiece celebrating 30 years of freedom."

Featured in these documentaries are everyday South Africans, chosen not based on race but on their contributions to their communities, be it in sports, music, education, or entertainment. According to Precious, the collective efforts of these individuals are what make South Africa truly great, a sentiment that fills her with pride.

While recounting the genesis of her documentary, Precious, amidst the hustle and bustle of the Turkey Airport, expressed how her perception of South Africa's achievements deepened upon her return. She commended the country for embodying Ubuntu, emphasizing that while other nations may attempt to emulate it, South Africa's authenticity sets it apart.

Although she spent considerable time in the Eastern Cape, Precious still found herself enchanted by its richness. Her visit to her grandparents provided a profound connection to the province's beauty, with its lush greens, majestic mountains, and flowing rivers evoking a sense of peace. For Precious, it's a place she envisions for her children, a testament to the province's allure.

Amidst the acclaim she receives, Precious spoke about the warmth she feels when people appreciate her craft, highlighting the joy of making a positive impact on others' lives.

When asked about her travel experiences, Precious admitted to the occasional hiccup, like missing a flight. Yet, she urged people to embrace the transformative power of travel, insisting it broadens perspectives. Encouraging the youth to follow their dreams, she emphasized the importance of leveraging technology, urging them to turn dreams into achievable goals.

As the self-funded documentary project progresses, Precious is committed to presenting 30 episodes featuring exceptional South Africans, portraying the richness of their everyday experiences. Although she is deeply engrossed in this endeavor, Precious approaches the future with hope, fueled by an unwavering passion to vividly depict the greatness of South Africa.

And what does Precious do to unwind? "I would cultivate some time to watch Korean dramas," she shares, a unique way to get lost and unwind during her bustling creative journey.
