The purpose of these Awards is to showcase, not only to those in our Metro, but also to those companies or organizations outside of it… the professional standard of talent and expertise that is available right here… and, of course, the spin-off that those external Companies have local resources to call on… when hosting their business events in our city!

The Awards (awards evening takes place on Tuesday 1 November) are specifically aimed at those who operate within the Business arenas… with regard to conferences, seminars, tradeshows and other business-based events/functions… and there are 9 Categories that were set up, for nominations and then submissions of portfolio.

The Categories:

Behind the Scenes

Entertainer

Event Organizer

Food and Beverage

MC – Master/Mistress of Ceremonies

Newcomer

Survivor (after lockdown)

Venue – Medium-Large

Venue – Small

The Nominations and subsequent submissions derived from a cross section of Business Event Players, across the Metro and the Preliminary Judges had their work cut out, reading through said submissions and then selecting the 3 Finalists per Category (as per attached)

The final round of judging will be done over two days, late September, and those Judging Panels will then make the decision as to each Category Winner; Former Nelson Mandela Bay resident… Glenton de Kock, who is now Head of SAACI… is going to be part of this Panel and is keen to meet the Finalists!

The Committee is excited by the nominations, submissions and subsequent finalists and unanimously agree that there is definitely an array of events industry talent, that can hold their heads high, on a national “stage”!

Local Companies who are aligned to this Industry have readily come on board as sponsors …. Including:

* The Boardwalk - as the venue Sponsor, for the Judging, the Filming of video clips, of each Finalist, as well as the Awards evening alongside

* Fitch n Leeds – Supply of beverages to our finalists at the Filming & Judging sessions as well as the sponsor of welcome drinks at our Awards evening
