Movement, real name Khulile Moyake is a Gqeberha born rapper, who grew up in Motherwell before moving to New Brighton where he currently resides. “My favourite artist is Abantu from Motherwell, back in the days when I was new to listening to Hip Hop music I got hooked by his writing skills, the flow and how he tell the story. Musically for you which genre sounds like the biggest at the moment? “I think the Yano’s are the big thing now because most of the time in big events around SA its Amapiano artist’s in the front line of the lineup”.
Back to you, when did you commence with your music and what motivated you to start? “This thing of music was always burning inside me, because I remember in primary school me and my friends use to love and enjoy listening to Zola. I was the one who was always quick to memorize Zola’s lyrics then perform for them. Fast forward, I started to write my own lyrics when I was in high school 2014. One of the things that motivated me to start was the feeling that I got every time I write music, an inexplainable but out of this world feeling, and that made me think this is a calling for me”.
