Allow us to introduce to you Lilitha Ntsundwani, a News Producer, Bulletin Writer, and Reader at SABC. Lilitha is a young man who lives by the direct translation of his name, "He is the LIGHT," which reflects his daily aspiration to be the light. His nickname on social media is #i2kElibhadlileyo, which means "the matured one born in 2000." Although it may be long in English, but it is a unique and powerful reflection of his identity.
This talented gent grew up in East London rural areas in Twecu under Tsholomnqa. He matriculated in Dutywa at Nomaka Mbeki Tech. S.S.S and then pursued tertiary education in Cape Town at CPUT and UCT. Currently, Lilitha resides in Johannesburg and works at SABC.
In his Grade 11 and 12 years, Lilitha was in a school that encouraged extracurricular activities. He was actively involved in book clubs, parliamentary and informal debates, poetry performances, story-telling sessions, speech, and essay competitions. These experiences cultivated his interest in unleashing his communication skills, whether through writing or speaking.
Lilitha has been inspired by God's ability to give his strength, even when his background could have kept him down. He wants to inspire and enlighten rural children who may not have had fathers, may not have gone to well-developed schools, and may have grown up with grandparents. Lilitha believes that, despite any circumstances, everyone has a unique purpose that can be fulfilled.
While Lilitha has faced challenges in the industry, including radio stations not seeing his value, he has rejected offers that would have exploited him in the name of exposure. Imposter syndrome has also been a frustrating experience for Lilitha, but he has persevered and continued to pursue his dreams.
Arriving at SABC has been a dream come true for Lilitha. He is ecstatic to work alongside individuals he has watched on the news growing up with his late grandmother, including Zodwa Nogilana and Siyavuya Sineke. Lilitha has been entrusted with national stories since his first day at work on April 1, 2023. His management at SABC and the public he serves have given him positive feedback, which motivates him to deliver even more.
"My advice to content creators is to find their uniqueness, as their craft is their craft. It's crucial to tap into one's uniqueness as it holds so much power that no one can disqualify, deteriorate, or deter. I encourage people to be fearless in becoming who they want to be, as this will keep them in a state of readiness for the manifestation of their breakthrough".
Outside of work, Lilitha enjoys exploring new environments outdoors, watching nature, listening to podcasts, reading books, writing poetry, and speaking with God, whom he believes orders his steps.
Lilitha Ntsundwani is an amazing and talented young man. His passion for communication and inspiring others is evident in his work and his words. He is a beacon of light for rural children and young people, and his journey to success is one worth following.
