Farook Mohammed, an award-winning artist, believes that art has the power to create positive change and bring people together. With this belief, he has organized an event called "How It's Done: Art That Changes the World" which is taking place on the 27th of March 2023. This event is a platform for Mohammed to showcase his work and inspire others to use their talents to make the world a better place.
During "How It's Done: Art That Changes the World," Mohammed will share his experiences as an artist and discuss the power of art to bring about positive change. He will showcase some of his most notable works and explain the message behind each piece. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage with Mohammed and ask him questions about his art and his mission.
In one of his features recently, he commented about the team behind "How It's Done: Art That Changes the World" and said, the team behind the project is comprised of photographers, videographers, dancers, musicians, PR and marketing interns, with support from various organizations such as the Department of Arts and Culture, The Art Bank South Africa, National Museum Bloemfontein, Presidential Employment Stimulus, National Arts Council, and the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality. The project has also been endorsed by his and her Royal Highness, the king and queen of the Nama Royal House in the Republic of South Africa, who also have some of Farook's work in their collection.
The event is open to everyone who shares Mohammed's passion for art and social change. Whether you're an artist, an activist, or simply someone who wants to learn more about the power of art, "How It's Done: Art That Changes the World" is the perfect opportunity to get inspired and take action.
Farook Mohammed believes that in these uncertain times, it's more important than ever to come together and invest in ideas that have the power to create positive change. That's why he is inviting everyone to join him at the Pan Africanist Art Exhibition, which will be hosted by him in March 2023 at The Tramways in Nelson Mandela Bay.
He also emphasized that the event is more than just an exhibition celebrating art; but a rallying cry for peace, prosperity, and harmony. With the public’s support, he believes everyone can demonstrate the power of art to unite people and inspire change worldwide.
Additionally, he mentioned that the benefits of this exhibition extend beyond just cultural and emotional aspects. Investing in art can also have a positive impact on the economy. The sale of art can generate revenue for artists and galleries, and the tourism industry can also benefit from art exhibitions and events as people travel to attend these events and visit museums and galleries. Furthermore, investing in art can have indirect economic benefits, such as the potential to increase property values in the areas where art events and exhibitions are held.
As part of the opening night of the upcoming exhibition at Tramways, performances will also take place. A Pan African dance performance by Ilandi Engelbrecht is accompanied by specially composed music by Daylan Smith. In addition to the opening night of the event, the rest of the days from 28 to 6 April are open to the public, though the exhibition opening night alone is an exclusive event.
The event is open to everyone who shares Mohammed's passion for art and social change. Whether you're an artist, an activist, or simply someone who wants to learn more about the power of art, "How It's Done: Art That Changes the World" is the perfect opportunity to get inspired and take action.
