Music has the power to transcend cultural and linguistic boundaries, often touching the soul and evoking deep emotions. Many people find solace, inspiration, and a sense of spirituality through music, making it a universal form of emotional and spiritual healing. Whether in religious rituals, meditation, or personal reflection, music can provide a profound connection to one's inner self and a sense of transcendence. After all, music is a universal language.

We look at PristDaPricha, who makes music to inspire mental growth and emotional healing. Through sharing his real-life experiences, he has managed to reach that goal.

PristDaPricha was born in South Africa, Eastern Cape, Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha). PristDaPricha started doing music in 2013, where he was a house DJ back then. In 2017, he started to be involved in Hip Hop music, where he also recorded his first album. That's when he fell in love with Hip Hop because it made it easy for him to share his stories very well.

PristDaPricha says his biggest lesson so far is that one cannot put their dreams in others' hands. "You need to take control of your life and make your dreams come true. You must sacrifice some things for your dreams to come alive," says PristDaPricha.

The music business faces several difficulties, such as streaming revenue, copyright concerns, and fair compensation, to name a few. PristDaPricha says he has been struggling with discoverability. "I think the biggest challenge I'm facing right now is not being exposed enough and getting acknowledged by many involved in this music industry, where I think I deserve more. This is encouraging me to push more because I believe and know that one day my hard work will pay off, and I'll get the recognition I deserve. I'm not a complainer, and this, to me, is a great challenge that I need to embrace to get through as time goes by."

What matters most to you? Doing music for the love of music or making music to put bread on your table? And support your statement. “Both mean a lot to me. I do music out of love, striving to inspire and motivate people, especially young people out there who are determined to improve themselves, pushing no matter what the circumstances. I also do music to take care of my family, as I come from a poor background where we had to struggle growing up. Now I'm here, still pushing, hoping for the light to shine on me, my family, and those around me”.

Tell us about your recent music tour, where did you visited, and what's the thinking behind it, and where else can the public expect to see you? “I am currently doing street tours around Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha), performing live for people on the streets near well-organized areas. I recently visited Summerstrand Boardwalk, and my next stop will be Greenacres. Other venues will be announced via my social media platforms”.

If given a chance, which established artist would you like to feature in the future and why that artist? “I would like to work with Emtee, Ami Faku, and Sjava. I think it's how they make music to pass the message that motivates and inspires people. So, I see myself working with them soon, and I'm sharing the same style of music as they do”.

Beyond the melodies, we discovered PristDaPricha's unwinding moments and inspirational outreach. This was after we wanted to hear from him when not working on his music, what does he do to unwind? “I'm working on my music, learning more about my craft online, always marketing my work, and always on social media to give inspiration and updates about my music”.
