On Thursday, June 13, 2024, DO4SA, a non-profit organization based in North End, Gqeberha, hosted a graduation ceremony to honor their students who successfully completed the NQF Level 5 certificate in Systems Development. The 12-month course, accredited by SAQA under IT Varsity, is designed to prepare candidates to become app developers, website designers, or software developers.

The event was celebrated by friends and families and featured three guest speakers: IT Varsity CEO Bilal Kathrada, software programmer Simon Agar, and Ettienne Gerwel, a business development manager at S4 Integration, who all delivered exceptional and motivational speeches.

The graduates were Michael Limberg, Mashra Slingers, Siyamamkela Ngumbela, Likholwane Kewuti, and Likhona Komle. They shared their experiences and testimonials about the course, highlighting the skills they acquired and expressing appreciation to the funders of the organization.

Project Manager Soknamai Fal stated that the organization strives to alleviate the negativity surrounding poverty in South Africa. They run programs such as “Imifuno Guide to Gardening,” targeting old, marginalized communities to teach them gardening and seedling cultivation. The coding course is fully funded, lasts for one year, and teaches students how to code, culminating in the award of Level 5 certificates.

The ceremony ended on a beautiful note, with everyone networking with notable figures in the IT industry, exemplifying the organization's goal of transforming lives.
