Apart from her own business, Camagwini has a great admiration for Buccaneer biltong, which she considers one of her favorite brands in Mzansi. When asked why she loves Buccaneer biltong so much, she says that they produce fresh and authentic South African biltong.
Camagwini started her business in 2018, inspired by a candle that her dad bought for her on her 12th birthday. She fell in love with scented candles and began researching how to make her own. In the process, she created a clientele that pushed her to experiment with different fragrances. Her mother, who was heavily involved in community building projects, motivated her to start a candle business.
To Camagwini, being on the mist means having an invisible scent in your space that is not visible yet very present due to the fragrance in the air. Mist Soy Candles offers an array of scents to suit everyone's preferences, and each candle is carefully crafted to perfection.
However, running a business at a young age was not easy for Camagwini. Balancing school work, having a social life, and making candles in her spare time was a challenge. She realized she needed support and her mother stepped in to help manage the business and elevate it to the next level.
The highlight of her business so far has been having their product at Spar and having to restock the shelves every week. This was a clear indication that their candles do what they are created for, which is to smell good in one’s personal space.
When not working directly on the business, Camagwini indulges in candlelit meditation sessions accompanied by her journal and reading. She understands the importance of self-care and taking time to recharge.
